So the job I got was a consulting job, but the firm they wanted me to align myself with isn't able to do employment taxes in Michigan - so they're going to pay me with a 1099. Essentially, I'd be an independent contractor - have to deal with my own taxes, etc. Instead of just being a sole proprietor, I decided to go ahead and incorporate. The tax benefits are the main reason -
So I'll start with one client - with a 6-month contract. After that, who knows?
