A very tired and Monday. The day started off miserably. Too much traffic on the way in, too long to find parking and late for a planned meeting. The day turned out well, all things even out.
Beautiful warm sun shiny morning - went out and found parking close by after double parked for an houlr and a half.
The meeting went well despite a hectice start. The participants gave nice reviews.

I am so glad that I have a job. I have a job that I enjoy. I do work that is meaningful and satisfying. I love my work, I love the facility that employs me. I have a completely adequate income. I am not wealthy, but I don't have to worry about how to pay my bills. Is it too much to ask that I have a decent, fair, reasonable, and sane boss? I used to think she was the best boss ever, but I have come to realize that she is far more interested in maintaining a friendship with one employee than mana…

HOPE
Hope is a fleeting thing, a thing with wings that flutters in and out if we aren't careful to nurture it into staying.
Six months after beginning the search, I have a job interview, my second during this process.
I have neglected my hope and it had fluttered out again. I am thankful that it fluttered back in again.

1. Take a velvety green pine tree dripping with rain droplets. Add sun so that the droplets sparkle silver. Put the blushing orange leaves of a peach tree next to it. And the silver grey of an olive.
2. Add a tiny white-washed chapel and a stone wall to sit on so that you can look down over the sea. Add birds singing and acorns underfoot and the autumny smell of rain. And a mountain - you're half way up a mountain covered in pine trees.

after midnight hushed and entangled afterglow,
another unseasonably warm and sunny day in november in michigan, such a blessing,
birds of paradise,
pot of hot tea, two white cups and saucers,
the lush quiet of the house after the boys go to bed, b grading exams, me reading, everything wrapped in silence...
