Grace in Small Things

Waging a battle against embitterment since 2008

1. Watching a funny, ridiculous movie that doesn't make me think too much. Sometimes I need a no-brainer

2. Being true to myself

3. Pumpkin patches

4. Confirmation in the form of smiles and hugs and love that I'm doing things alright and that Sabine, on some level, is adjusting, even thriving through a difficult time

5. Learning to only control what I can truly control

Realizing there are things you can't control is such a revelation. Your daughter is beautiful and i think she will continue to thrive with you as her example.

you're clearly doing wonderfully. she is confident and happy, curious and expressive. kids are so amazingly resilient, perhaps moreso than us adults. your fierce and tender love for her shines through in your posts. you're doing great, mom... ;-)

I agree, you definitely create a safe and loving space for your beautiful daughter. I also agree with no-brainer movies, sometimes they really are a must
